Stage 3: Individual time trial

Tuesday August 13, 2024

6,3 kilometers

Start first rider: 3.10 pm

Finish last rider: 17:50

The Rotterdam final of the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift 2024 promises to be a spectacle. The centre of Rotterdam will be the focus of an individual time trial on long, straight roads with many bridges and few corners. Fast pace guaranteed!

A few hours after the morning stage from Dordrecht to Rotterdam, the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift prepares for another stage: an individual race against the clock in Rotterdam. The first real date for the classification riders. With the Limburg and Ardennes hills as well as the French mountains to come, the main thing here is not to lose any time; one steering error can already have major consequences. The classification will be turned upside down for the first time.

Game to the seconds
The time trial is short and that has a big advantage: the battle for victory will turn into a seconds game where TV viewers will be on the edge of their seats. The spectators along the route will have the best view of the afternoon. They see the best cyclists in the world rush past them one by one.

Ideal for hard riders
The course is made for hard riders, with lots of long, straight stretches and only a handful of corners. Start and finish are at the foot of the Erasmus Bridge, where the second stage finished earlier in the day.

Over Coolsingel and Hofplein
Hard riders can have their fill during the first 3 kilometres of the time trial, which are pretty much dead straight. Via the Schiedamsedijk and the Coolsingel, they head for the Hofplein roundabout at top speed. A great location for cycling fans to see the riders at work; be there early because you won’t be the only one here.

Sequence of bridges
After the turning point at Hofplein, it is back over the same roads to the Erasmus Bridge. This forms the starting point of a series of bridges in the last 3 kilometres. Following this, the Spoorweghavenbrug, Binnenhavenbrug, Koninginnebrug and Willemsbrug are also on the programme.

Seconds tick away
The final kilometre takes us in one stretch along the water of the Nieuwe Maas to the finish on the Boompjes. The speed here will be unprecedented as the seconds tick away. Who will win the race against the clock, and who will leave Rotterdam in the yellow jersey?
