Stage 3: Individual time trial

6,3 kilometers

Tuesday, August 13, 2024

The Rotterdam final of the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift 2024 promises to be a spectacle. The centre of Rotterdam will be the focus of an individual time trial on long, straight roads with many bridges and few corners. Fast pace guaranteed!

A few hours after the morning stage from Dordrecht to Rotterdam, the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift will prepare for another ride: an individual race against the clock in Rotterdam. The first real test for the classification riders. With the hills of Limburg, the Ardennes and the French mountains to come, it will be important not to lose any time, as even a single steering error could have serious consequences. For the first time, the classification will be turned upside down.

Game to the seconds
The time trial is short and that has a big advantage: the battle for victory will turn into a seconds game where TV viewers will be on the edge of their seats. The spectators along the route will have the best view of the afternoon. They see the best cyclists in the world rush past them one by one.

Ideal for speed riders
The course is made for speed riders, with many long, straight stretches and only a handful of bends. Start and finish are at the foot of the Erasmus Bridge, where the second stage finished earlier in the day.

Across the Coolsingel and Hofplein
The racing cyclists can indulge during the first 3 kilometres of the trial. Over the Schiedamsedijk and the Coolsingel, they will head for the Hofplein roundabout at top speed. A great venue for cycling fans to watch the riders at work; get there early because you won’t be the only one here.

Sequence of bridges
After the Hofplein turning point, it’s back on the same roads to the Erasmus Bridge. This is the start of a series of bridges over the last 3 kilometres. Following that, the Railway Harbour Bridge, Inner Harbour Bridge, Queen’s Bridge and Willems Bridge are also on the program.

Seconds tick away
The last kilometre stretches along the water of the New Meuse (Nieuwe Maas) to the finish line on the Boompjes. The speed here will be unprecedented as the seconds tick away. Who will win the race against the clock, and who will leave Rotterdam in the yellow jersey?
