Rotterdam is also a top sporting city. It plays host to regular championships in leading sports, including the world championships in volleyball, gymnastics and rowing. In 2010, the city hosted the Grand Départ of the Tour de France. Rotterdam also has top-notch shopping, dining, nightlife and lodging. The latter is recommended because a day in Rotterdam is really not enough.
