Road closures

On Sunday, August 11, the ‘Cycling Festival for Everyone’ will take place in the center of Rotterdam. The following closures will be in effect:

Sunday, August 11, 2024

From 06:00 to 14:00, the Koninginnebrug/Prins Hendrikkade is closed in the southbound direction;
From 06:00 to 14:00, the Willemsbrug is closed in the southbound direction;
From 06:00 to 14:00, Stieltjesstraat is closed in both directions;
You can only reach the Noordereiland between 6:00 AM and 2:00 PM via the Koninginnebrug and leave via the Willemsbrug. These remain open in full direction; the southbound lane will be closed.
From 06:00 to 14:00, Vasteland is closed between Schiedamse Vest and Schiedamsedijk;
From 06:00 to 14:00, Schiedamsedijk and Coolsingel are closed;
From 06:00 to 14:00, Erasmusbrug is closed northbound;
From 06:00 to 14:00, Boompjes is closed in both directions between Oostmolenwerf and Schiedamsedijk;
From 06:00 to 14:00, Andre van der Louwbrug is closed southbound.

Parking Restrictions

Due to the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift, parking restrictions will apply in several streets. Note: The times of the parking restrictions vary by street. Exact times will be indicated by street signs.

Sunday, August 11:

A parking ban is in effect on Schiedamsedijk;
Parking is prohibited on Stieltjesstraat.
A parking ban is in effect on Laan op Zuid between Zuiderspoorstraat and Willem Dudokplein;
Parking is prohibited on Boompjes.
A parking ban is in effect on Zalmhaven;
A parking ban is in effect on Willemsplein.

This prohibition applies even if you have a parking permit.
You may have to park your car in a different spot than you are used to. Be sure to park only in your own parking sector.

Loading and unloading is also not allowed.
Please inform visitors, suppliers and customers about this.
Cars parked in areas with parking bans will be towed away.
The costs (minimum € 165) are for the owner of the car.
You can avoid these costs by removing your car in time.

Reachability

On Sunday, Aug. 11, the Noordereiland will be temporarily less accessible. Below you can see how this affects the Noordereiland. Please note that the times indicated may change.

Entry and exit of Noordereiland is only possible via Prins Hendrikkade on the northeast side of Noordereiland. Other intersections will be closed;
From 06:00, Koninginnebrug/Prins Hendrikkade is closed southbound;
From 06:00, Willemsbrug is closed southbound;
From 06:00, Stieltjesstraat is closed in both directions;
Roads will be reopened from 14:00;
You can leave North Island only via the Willems Bridge.
This remains open northbound;
Koninginnebrug also remains open northbound.

From 06:00 in the morning to 14:00 in the afternoon, the following closures apply:

Closure of Vasteland between Schiedamse Vest and Schiedamsedijk;
Closure of Schiedamsedijk and Coolsingel;
Closure of Erasmusbrug northbound;
Closure of Boompjes in both directions between Oostmolenwerf and Schiedamsedijk;
Closure of Andre van der Louwbrug and Willemsbrug southbound.

Road closures

On Monday, August 12, and Tuesday, August 13, the cyclists will ride stages through Rotterdam. The roads on the route will be temporarily closed when the riders pass. See here for an overview of the routes. Additionally, the following closures apply during the Tour de France Femmes:

Parking Garages

During the Tour de France Femmes, fewer parking spaces will be available in some municipal parking garages, or the garages will be temporarily closed.

Museumpark parking garage: not available until 1 p.m., exit only.
An exception is made for EMC employees, they can drive in and out.
Wytemaweg Parking Garage: not available, only exit until 15 minutes before the start of stage 1.
Westzeedijk EMC parking garage: available, please note temporary closure for entry between 11:40 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. and closure for exit between 12:10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.

Reachability

On Sunday, August 11, 2024, Monday, August 12, 2024, and Tuesday, August 13, 2024, various cycling activities will take place around Boompjes, Schiedamsedijk, and Noordereiland. On Monday, August 12, the cycling teams will ride from the start in Rotterdam city center to the finish in The Hague. During these days, several closures will be in effect as listed here. Note that the indicated times may change.

In addition, on Sunday, August 11 and Tuesday, August 13, North Island will be temporarily less accessible because part of the course (against the direction of travel) will cross the Queen’s Bridge and Willems Bridge.

Rochussenstraat will be closed between Westersingel and Mathenesserlaan.
This closure will last from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Westersingel is closed between Rochussenstraat/Westblaak and Westzeedijk from 07:00 to 13:00;
Between Monday, August 12, 8:00 pm and Tuesday, August 13, 10:00 pm, the Boompjes will be closed in both directions between Restaurant Fred and the Schiedamsedijk.

Road closures

The Schiedamsedijk will be closed southbound on Tuesday, August 13, between 6:00 am and 8:00 pm.
In Zalmhaven, at Zalmstraat and Gedempte Zalmstraat, an area will be set up on Tuesday, August 13, for the arrival of 22 team buses.
Vasteland will be closed between Westersingel and Schiedamsedijk from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
Schiedamsedijk and Coolsingel will be closed from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
Hofplein will be closed except for two lanes from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
Erasmus Bridge will be closed from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
Wilhelminakade will be partially closed but will remain open for traffic from Laan op Zuid towards Erasmus Bridge.
From 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., the Queen’s Bridge/Prins Hendrikkade will be closed southbound;
From 13:00 to 18:00, the Willemsbrug will be closed in the southern direction.
You can leave Noordereiland only via the Willemsbrug.
This will remain open in the northern direction;
From 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., Stieltjes Street will be closed in both directions;
A portion of Maasboulevard will be closed from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
From 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., the Andre van der Louw Bridge will be closed southbound on Tuesday, Aug. 13;
Boompjes will be closed in both directions between Schiedamsedijk and Oostmolenwerf.

Boompjes parking garages: no temporary parking facilities except subscription holders.
Maastoren parking garage: not available between 10:45 and 11:35 a.m. and from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. entry and exit is not possible.
Erasmus Bridge parking garage: closed all day until 8 p.m.

From Monday, August 12, 8:00 PM to Tuesday, August 13, 10:00 PM, Boompjes will be closed in both directions between Restaurant Fred and Schiedamsedijk.
On Tuesday, August 13, Vasteland will be closed between Westersingel and Schiedamsedijk from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
Schiedamsedijk will be closed in the southbound direction on Tuesday, August 13, from 6:00 AM to 8:00 PM.
Andre van der Louwbrug and Willemsbrug will be closed southbound on Tuesday, August 13, from 2:00 PM.
In Zalmhaven, at Zalmstraat and Gedempte Zalmstraat, an area will be set up on Tuesday, August 13, for the arrival of 22 team buses.
Entering and exiting Noordereiland will only be possible via Prins Hendrikkade on the northeast side of Noordereiland. All other intersections will be closed.
In the morning, the cycling teams will ride a stage from Dordrecht to Rotterdam. Between 11:00 AM and 11:45 AM, the cycling teams are expected to pass through Noordereiland northbound. Roads will be temporarily closed and reopened once the cyclists have passed.
In the afternoon, the cycling teams will ride a time trial through Rotterdam. During the time trial, they will ride northbound (against the traffic direction) over Willemsbrug.
From 1:00 PM, Koninginnebrug/Prins Hendrikkade will be closed southbound.
From 1 p.m., the Willemsbrug will be closed in the southern direction.
You can leave Noordereiland only via the Willemsbrug.
This will remain open in the northern direction;
From 1:00 PM, Stieltjesstraat will be closed in both directions.
Roads will be reopened from 6:00 PM.

When will the Tour de France Femmes 2024 take place?

From Sunday 11 August to Tuesday 13 August 2024, the Tour de France Femmes will take place in Rotterdam. Read more information here: Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift – Grand Départ Rotterdam (letourfemmes-rotterdam.nl).

Do I need a ticket?

No, the event is free of charge.

Will the shops be open?

Shops will be open according to their regular opening hours.

What is the best way to get to the track?

It will be busier than usual in the city. Therefore, if possible, we recommend coming to the event on foot, by public transport or by bike. Coming by car? Then park it at a P+R and continue travelling by public transport.

What route do cycling teams take?

Divided over Monday 12 August and Tuesday 13 August, the teams will complete three different stages. You can view the routes here: Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift – Grand Départ Rotterdam (letourfemmes-rotterdam.nl).

Which car parks are closed?

During the Tour de France Femmes, fewer parking spaces will be available in some municipal parking garages, or the garages will be temporarily closed.

Monday 12 august

Museumpark Parking Garage: not available, only exit until 15 minutes before the start of stage 1. An exception is made for EMC employees, who can enter and exit.
Wytemaweg Parking Garage: not available, only exit until 15 minutes before the start of stage 1.
Westzeedijk EMC Parking Garage: not available, only exit until 15 minutes before the start of stage 1.

Tuesday 13 august

Maastoren Parking Garage: not available between 10:45 am and 11:35 am
Erasmusbrug Parkeer Garage: not available between 10:00 am en 20:00 pm

What is the programme?

Ahead of Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift 2024 in August, there are already plenty of activities to prepare for the cycling spectacle. The full programme can be viewed here: Programma – Tour de France Femmes (letourfemmes-rotterdam.nl)

Furthermore, the event is spread over three days.

Sunday 11 august

On Sunday, the Cycling Festival will take place. On Sunday, there are several activities to do on the Glitterplein (Willemsplein). Fans can also cycle the time trial route themselves.

Monday 12 august

On Monday 12 August, the first stage will be ridden from Rotterdam to The Hague. It is 124 kilometres and will start at 12:15 at Museumpark. After the start in the Museumpark, next to the Depot Boijmans Van Beuningen, the peloton will pass through the city centre, including the Coolsingel and the Witte de Withstraat.

Tuesday 13 august

On Tuesday 13 August, the second stage will be driven from Dordrecht to Rotterdam in the morning. This stage is 67 kilometres long. Those cycling teams will start at 9:15 am on the Energieplein in Dordrecht and are expected to finish around 11:36 am on the Boompjes at the foot of the Erasmus Bridge.

In the afternoon, the third stage will be run, which is an individual time trial through Rotterdam. This time trial is 6.7 kilometres long. The cyclists will start at 15:10 at the foot of the Erasmus Bridge and finish on the Boompjes at the foot of the Erasmus Bridge.
